first x-mas-party this year
i have a little headache. the one you get from red wine in combination with cigarettes (jep - i'm weak..) last night was the agency's christmas-party. we had it already because i'm leaving next saturday (!!) and i wanted to be there, too. last year we did raclette at the office. it's a really nice and light office in an old building with high ceilings, hardwood floors and a lot of art all over the place. so no neon-lights and grey carpet.. it's actually really comfortable there and we had a good time. this year our bosses (A & E - they're a couple) invited us to have it at their apartment. they just moved in in april or so and it's awesome. A prepared so much great food, it was perfect. we did raclette again and had a great time. after eating we played trash-julklapp. i don't know if you guys know that. everyone brings a gift (in this case it's supposed to be trashy), they all go into a big bag and then you play to get one. you roll the dice and every number means something. for the first 6 you get to pick a gift from the bag, for the second 6 you get to unwrap it and once everybody has an unwrapped gift you start a clock (we did 11 minutes) and roll the dice again. and then the gifts go back and forth between everyone because every number has a meaning (roll a 4 = trade with your left hand neighbour and so on..). it always gets really crazy at the end because there's usually some sort of "favorite" gift that most people want so it's all about rolling the dice fast and trading until you have the gift you want. and then you take your sweet time when it's your turn to roll because you don't wanna give it up again... it's always loud and fun ;o)

later on we played charade. men agains women. the goups think about things one person from the other group has to explain pantomimic to her/his teammates. so of course you think about words where you have to make the weirdest moves and grimaces to explain. like, hmm, what did we have? "gastric examination" (magenspiegelung) for example or "maundy thursday" (gründonnerstag). we had a blast. i think we played 'til after 1 a.m. and left around 1:45 or so. i didn't get to bed until almost 4 and i had to get up at 11 because i needed to buy food for the cat and a couple other things across the street and the store closes at 12.. so on top of the tiny hungover i'm tired. i hate when i have to set the alarm on the weekend.

now, today i have to go downtown for the last time before i leave and buy a couple things (i hope i don't forget any..) and then i'll meet maren for a coffee. tomorrow afternoon we'll get together with the family. most nights next week are already "full". and i "only" have that one week left. i mean, a week from right now i'm hanging around copenhagen's airport waiting for the flight to chicago.. this is going fast now, people. not that i mind at all, but i still have so much to do.. talking of - i do have to go now. hope you all have a great weekend ;o)
