chitty chitty bang bang
this last weekend was fun. since i actually took the time to stay home on the couch for two days straight i was a lot better by friday night already. which meant: we didn't have to change plans about the pajama-party at my place. when i woke up in the morning i felt crappy and talked to betti about an alternative location where i could go home late and sleep by myself in my own bed - cause that's what you need when you're sick, isn't it? but we really couldn't come up with a good one (other than kicking marc out of the apartment for the night and meeting at her place) and i knew i'd probably be better by the evening. which i was, too ;o) so we got two movies and pizza and then put the matress from my bed and the matress from maren's bed (who lives on the same floor) - both about king-size - on the floor in front of the couch, put on PJs, got our bedding and got cozy in the livingroom. the movies sucked, but we really didn't care. we snacked and giggled and chatted and did everything eight women in their late twenties will do once let loose ;o) it was SO MUCH FUN. especially after two sick-couch-days..

we probably went to sleep around 3 a.m. and were awake by 8.30 a.m. so we didn't exactly sleep long, but it was too bright and i suppose there just wasn't enought oxygen left in the room by that time ;o) so we hung around for a while and had a yummi breakfast. and after everybody had taken a shower and gotten ready, we continued the great girls-weekend by looking for a wedding dress for betti. that poor saleslady - but of course you have to bring "a few" friends when you pick out a dress.. she found a really nice one, too. two pieces. a neckholder-top and a really pretty, kinda simple but still not ordinary skirt. i took a few pix so she can go to a tailor and have it calculated there. but it was certainly exciting. it's the first wedding in the closer group and we're all giggly, girly excited ;o)

after that i decided to not go to the tupperware-party with maren, nina & betti. i didn't wanna spend any money and that was just a little too middle-class-twenties-woman-like for me. so i vegetated on the couch trying to catch up on the lack of sleep, cleaned around the house and watched some tv. then i talked to maren j. for a while. somewhere around 11 p.m. i got a message from my s.i.l. michi from "payton's" where they were having cocktails with a few people. so i fixed myself up a little bit, hopped on the bike and went there - spontaneous me. after a cocktail we went to an 80ies party close by. it was okay - we had a couple beers and went home around 2.30 or so. yesterday i didn't even get dressed. i just put on a sweater on top of my PJs and stayed home all day lazy. i did some laundry and dana & luk came over for a while. i finished the "surprise" for "someone" and watched the bone collector on tv. great movie. that was my weekend. how was yours?

9,5 days of work before i take off. i'm excited (duh!) although CA definetely won't happen. so we'll see what we're gonna do for new years. any suggestions? must be inexpensive and in "road-trip-distance" from fort wayne, IN. so go ahead and tell me if you have an idea what we could do.. oh ja, and since i'm so happy with my new phone i put up a picture on my site. i'll update it frequently although probably not while i'm over there as it's just too expensive. but i think it's a fun feature. i have to totally get back to work now and catch up on what's been piling up on my desk since thursday.
