the weekend was really nice and relaxing. the only annoying thing was my headache - behind the right eye. started saturday in the afternoon, lasted until sunday evening and is still only 99,5% gone. it was the kind of headache where you just know it won't go away with aspirin or ibuprofen and you feel like poking a knife into your eye and all the way through the pain.. no fun, but you can get used to it. i tend to have that kinda headache on the weekend. especially with so much to do at work because my neck is all tense and hurts from sitting in front of the monitor all day. *sigh* but it'll get better once i'm done with the catalogue.. friday after work michi and i went to IKEA once again. really quick this time. i exchanged a blind for the livingroom-window and bought just a few little things (that somehow ended up being worth another 50 euro..). friday night was couch-night and of course i did a few things in the apartment. dude, i drilled a hole through the wall between the livingroom and the bedroom. yes, i wanted to do it. it wasn't an accident but the intention.. the drill wasn't long enought to go all the way though though. so i had to measure where the hole started and then go in again from the other side and try and hit the hole. and - i did! JAY! tim taylor better watch out 'cause "home-improvement-queen" kimmi's comin' ;o) and now i have cable-TV in the bedroom. which doesn't make a whole lot of sense since i watch TV in bed probably once a month when i come home late and drunk on the weekend, but still.. at least i could if i wanted to! saturday i vegetated around the house waiting for the headache to (not) go away. i went grocery-shopping for the brunch (you wouldn't believe how much food one can haul on a bike), took a hot bubble-bath and had a few people over in the evening. and despite the headache i already had a that point i drank red wine, smoked and chatted up until after 2 in the morning. not that i don't know better.. and of course i had to get up and prepare everything for the brunch sunday morning - but i was all right ;o)

left to right: betti, nina, nadine, torben & wutz. see the picture above torben's head? that was in my room in st. paul when i was there as an au-pair '97/'98 and my hostfamily gave me a copy to take home with me. it's from the st. paul winter carnival.
this one's a little dark because it's taken against the light from outside.. left to right:
after brunch everyone moved into the livingroom. and of course we got the photos out. that's always fun because most of us have known each other in more than 15 years and that's about when i started to take photos. so there are things for everyone to recognize and remember.. and this shows that it's worth putting some efford into making albums because you never just get out the paperbags with the pictures and look through them..
speedy likes having people over.
nina and tim looking at pictures. check out the pumpkin-decoration and i put my picture-wall back up ;o) you can probably tell by now how i love pictures. i have them all over the place. i think it's awesome how you can capture a moment and that way kinda have all the good memories and the people that are important to you around..
left to right: so much for the promised pictures. i haven't booked a flight yet, found a great deal though. we're now also talking about the possibility of C maybe coming here instead of me going over there. after all, he pays for the ticket and would like to get out of there for a change. and i think he's in love with the new place as well ;o) i couldn't think of a nicer christmas-time even though the goodbye would be so much harder. but it'll work out one way or the other and as long as we're together again soon... |
