"exciting" news - this is gonna be looong

i'm pretty stressed this morning. wanna know why? no, you probably wanna know about the weekend. but the thing is - the weekend is so far away already since i got the news this morning.. you know i'm moving, right? now, the plan was to pack my stuff this week after work (except for wednesday 'cause we have tickets for a soccer game) and saturday all day and then move on sunday. i already organized everything. the family who lived in the apartment before me told me they were gonna move last weekend and it'd be no problem to paint everything until saturday since their new apartment was all set and all they had to to is put the hardwood-floors in. so far so good. i'm off to duesseldorf thinking i have all the time in the world to organize everything (otherwise i wouldn't have went). so they did move out on sunday and i was gonna put a note up on the door today because we needed to talk about a few things and i figured she'd be around since she had to paint the place yet. i was just about to put the note up, when i found a note from her on my door this morning asking me to give her a call. so i called. and that's when she told me she wasn't gonna make it until saturday. they had so much to do in the new place (the company painted and all the rest of it!) and she was stressed (she doesn't work..) and just wasn't gonna make it. now i got to decide whether i wanted the key to the new place tomorrow and paint myself or get the key on the 30th!! FYI - i plan on moving on the 26th! plus - i have to paint the old place as well and give it to the new resident on october 1st at the latest! so that would give me a day to move and paint the old place.. a weekday where everyone has to work.. no chance. and no decision really. i just have to do it. so this leaves me with three weeknights after work and a saturday to paint the new place and pack up my old place in order to be ready to move sunday morning. so i am not gonna go to the soccer game tomorrow but to the hardware-store and start painting. luckily i will have a few people to help even on this short notice. but still. *aahrg* okay, *taking a big breath* the weekend: that was a good time. maren and i left around 5 p.m. on friday and got to pia's around 8 p.m. we just pretty much dropped our stuff off and left to go to blumentrath's to see their new place. sandra and almut were there, we ordered pizza and chit-chatted over a couple bottles of red wine. the place is awesome. they have these high seilings that you have in older buildings and it's all really pretty. and the backyard.. we didn't leave too late 'cause we were all tired. on saturday, after a jummy breakfast we went to the les halles in duesseldorf. there's a flea market on saturdays. but one of these really nice and old school ones. no profesional dealers with cellphones and car-radios and that kinda crap but real old stuff. and then there's a café right next to it which has a totally cool and special atmosphere. they have old couches and comfy chairs to sit in and it's located on the old goods station. the weather was beautiful. sunny and really warm. so we spent some time there and went to the city centre later on where we did some shopping.. maren left in the afternoon to go and see tim and pia and i just wandered around, had some ice-cream and sat in the sun at the river for a little bit. then we went home to relax, made dinner, started drinking a little bit and left towards the altstadt where we met mike's brother and a couple other people. to make a long story short - we did some bar-hopping and got home at five in the morning. tom (mike's brother) had "borrowed" a barstool pretty much at the beginning of the evening and walked around with that all night. pretty funny.. the bouncers thought it was cool. since he wasn't allowed to take it inside the bars, he had to leave it outside and they got to sit for a while ;o) yeah, it was fun and we had a good time. i was tired on sunday, but not too hungover and got to relax in the car on the way back with maren. oh ja, and my brother and michi are back. they had a good time, too. spent more time in canada then originally planned and they liked it a lot. they actually met bina, a friend from school, in montreal on the street. she lives there right now, but how are the chances in a city of that size? i thought that was pretty funny. yeah - i'm ready for some vacation myself. but the big paint-move-paint-marathon comes first... jeeesh.. |
