bye bye bamberg

i am spontaneous. that's nothing new. just how spontaneous is though. friday around noon i decided to go to bamberg and surprise miriam for her goodbye-party before she leaves there. originally i wasn't gonna go 'cause i didn't really wanna take a day off, it was too expensive and i thought a few friends from duesseldorf would be coming on saturday. then pia told me friday around noon that they weren't coming after all and i saw a being-bored-and-depressed-to-death weekend ahead of me again. so i started looking into ways to go. there was a ride through an agency that mimi hat already checked out for me but i was too late for that. so i surfed for hours (no exaggeration here people - hours) to find a ride (there are many sites here where people offer to take you when they drive someplace and you just pay some money for gas). so i looked for rides from cities in the north anywhere somewhat near bremen to any city near bamberg in the south. but most of 'em were gonna leave just too early for me or had already left. and then i figured that the train ride to the departure city + the money for the ride + the train ride to bamberg all added up to almost as much as a regular train-ticket... so after about four hours of searching i decided to just "whatever" and cough up the 130 euro for the train ride. by that time it was almost five and i was still at work. plus - i just remembered that i had to do a text for a client for monday yet. i decided to do the text at miriam's and headed home. i ran and super-speed packed my bags and got ready and got going and guess what - i missed the train at seven fifteen by like 2 minutes (usually when i'm there the stupid train's never on time). i seriously had tears in my eyes and saw my money down the drain 'cause i didn't know if i could still change the ticket. plus - i had used my sister's "bahncard" to get a 25% discount. you really can't normally do that because it's only for the person who purchased the card. but since the picture on the card doesn't look anything like her (or me) and she uses it all the time, i decided to just try it. and there i was wanting to change the illegally bought ticket. jay - great. dude, i was sweating. i had her ID with me as well (same story about the picture..) but i thought i might have to sign something which would most definetely have been a problem. did i mention how i was sweating? anyhow, i could no problem change the ticket because it was not bound to the particular train (jay!). so i went back home again, relaxed, took a bath (had been sweating, ya know) and tried to go to bed early because i had to get up at 4:30 the next morning. couldn't go to sleep early and still got up. train left at 6:08 and i got to bamberg at 10:33. i called miriam on her cellphone asking her where she was. she's like "in the city" and i'm like "now, what a coincidene, me too!". so we met and she was all excited and happy. jay! i like being a surprise-guest.. the party that night was really good, too. there were around 150 people i would say (7 of them where trowing the party) and we danced and partied until around 3:30/4 a.m.ish. it was a good time. 'course than we didn't do a whole lot on sunday but still had to get up to take two other girls to the trainstation. after that we were lazy (besides me and the stupid text for that client). the weather wasn't all that great anyway.. unfortunately miriam had an appointment in munich on monday so we both took our ride/train at eight monday morning. i had planned on staying until the afternoon, but since i was a "surprise" those munich-plans had already been made. good thing was that that way i was back here around noon already. so i had the afternoon to myself and to catch up with some sleep. which i sure as hell did. and now i'm back here all not motivated and i wish i had some real vacation. i'm so tired. not necessarily because of the lack of sleep but tired of the job right now. which means i need some vacation since i usually kinda like my job.. but only a little more than six weeks 'til our girls-trip. so i'm hanging in there! oh ja, and guess what, it's raining. |
