who wants my marrow
a few years ago nina and i went and had our blood tested and put into a data-base of potential donators of marrow or blood stem cells. so yesterday i had a package in the mail asking me to get an appointment with my doctor and give more blood. then i have to send the blood to a laboratory where they will perform more tests to see if there are more characteristics that fit those of a patient who has a diseases treatable with marrow or blood stem cell transplants (like leukemia and many more).

now, i don't know if they just randomly ask people to get their blood tested some more to update their data-base that way or if there actually is a potential receiver for my blood whose characteristics already fit mine. so this is exciting and a little scary as well, i guess. i mean i have no problem at all giving blood, so i'm not worried about that. but - ahhhw. it's just exciting..
