a lot going on over the weekend
such a wild weekend. where do i start? well, i told you how the last game of the season was on saturday and the team would get the trophy after the game. it was totally sold out and tickets were up to 100 - 150 euro on ebay. maren, tim, nadine & marco got tickets though and benny had one anyway. so when i got back from the grocery-store around 2 p.m. they all came downstairs from maren's ready to get going. and they just talked me into coming. they said the worst thing that could happen would be that i'd have gone for a walk if i didn't get a ticket. so i threw all the stuff that had to stay cool in the fridge, grabbed a beer (my breakfast..) and went. on the way (which really isn't that far from my place) i kinda asked everybody how much money they had because i had only 15,- left after grocery-shopping. luckily tim had enough and to make a long story short: i got a ticket for the "ostkurve", which is the main fan-block, for 35 euro! still a lot considering the fact that originally those tickets cost 10,50 euro, but okay for that event. i was so excited. i mean i really didn't know i was gonna go 90 minutes prior to the game and there i was!! then i met my brother who gave me his scarf so i had something since i really wasn't "prepared" and got me another beer. it's good to have a big brother ;o)

well, the game really sucked, but the team was probably just really tired from partying all week and after being in a kinda bad mood (we were behing 0:3 at half time) in the first half people kinda started having the "who cares, we're champions already!"-attitude during the brake and the atmosphere was just awesome after that! we scored twice but still ended up loosing 2:6. but who cares, right? goosebumps most of the time. singing, yelling and screeming! after they had gotten the trophy and celebrated with the fans for about half an hour the team left the stadium and they opened the gate so everybody got the chance to go on the field. which we did, of course ;o) man, half the field was gone afterwards because so many people cut out a piece of the grass.. but the atmosphere was really cool!!

saturday night we barbequed at nina's and watched the "eurovision song contest". it was nice, but we were all just so tired and we knew we'd have to get up the next day for the official celebration of the championship in the city.. so i went home just after midnight.

then on sunday we met at 11 a.m. to bike to the city and be there when the team comes. they always go on the balcony of the city hall to celebrate with the fans and this time they took convertables from the stadium to the city along the river where thousands of fans were waiting and cheering. so they got to the "marketplace" about 30 minutes later than expected. but the weather was great and we were standing there in the sun (i got a nice sunburn, btw..). well, i took a few pictures and we saw some of the players driving by and the trophy on the balcony. it was really cool. i don't know exactly but i think there were probably at least 30.000 people. so definetely a special and unique experience ;o)

so much for the whole "werder bremen"-topic and now something totally different: i told you how i checked on flights for chris to come in august and i told him about them being alot cheaper in september friday night. he said he'd probably like to come in august anyway to have some summer here, but i really don't see that yet. somehow we kinda ended up talking about maybe me coming in july again. see, if he really doesn't come in august or even at the very end of august i won't be able to take a week or two off because the deadline for the new catalogue is september 10th. so after the catalogue's out and all the rest of it it'll definetely be the middle of november until i have the chance to take my vacation. and that's just too late. so i said i would like to come if we'd go dutch on the ticket. that would be around 320 euro each and we really don't have to do a whole lot while i'm there. i just wanna see him and have some time off. plus -- his dad's 60th birthday is within those two weeks and after the whole family-thing there won't be a whole lotta time left to do something anyway. i'd be more than happy just to lay in the sun at a lake with chris every day -- mhh, actually that sounds like my dreams coming true right now ;o)

so i told him last night all excited about what i was thinking and about the flight. and guess what? he actually tells me that he was now kinda planning on going to long beach during his vacation. when i told him how much the ticked was for each of us he actually said: "i could get a round-trip to long beach for that." i am really disappointed. i mean, i know he hasn't been there in five years, but what about seeing me after six months and my vacation??? he's gonna think about it now and then call me tonight. i have the flight blocked until tomorrow so there's gotta be a decision soon. gosh -- CROSS YOUR FINGERS for me and my vacation! the only thing is that even if he decides for me to come i'll probably feel like i kept him from going and will be wondering if he'll regret it later. after all, with the planes to come here in september he really doesn't know when he's gonna have the chance to go to long beach again. and it is his home-town that he hasn't been to in a long time. so i'm all confused and i don't really know what decision to hope for... but tell me, please - why can't it just be not complicated for a change. even a pretty clear thing (like i thought) turns out to be complicated. oh well, at least my life's definetely not boring ;o)

will keep you up to date, guys. and your job is to cross your fingers, please!!
