sweating, dude, sweating
i just deleted all my personal files from my computer at work. don't ask me how and why but an ex-colleague came the other day, did the "format c:"-thing, put in a new hard drive and just installed everything new and clean and nice. i really usually like that because afterwards i always have the coolest and newest version of every programm and can check out all the new (and often useless and stupid) features. i had everything save on the server while he did that. and now already all back on my PC. and because i'm a, what did chris say?, clean-freak (which is NOT TRUE, btw - i just like it organized and fairly clean -- not even close to monica bing ..) i already deleted everything from the server as well. anyway, now today i did something -- i don't even really remember what, to be honest -- and the whole folder was gone! even though we're not talking about any company-related stuff i was seriously sweating and my stomach felt like it had just left my torso-area and hit the popliteus. all my personal files -- homepage, letters, musik, pictures and just MY STUFF! plus -- the 1,35 GB folder called "burn baby burn" because i know i should burn some of the stuff on CDs just so something like this doesn't happen and i don't have the company PC full of my stuff. but i haven't -- yet! but i SO WILL!!! because -- i found it again! somehow there was a backup or something on the system-harddrive! thank you microsoft!!! so it's back, back, back and i am still a little sweaty .....

and you know what i realized -- i am not funny. i mean i read this and this and this and this on a pretty regular basis -- usually while i should totally be working instead -- and i even find more every day. and it's all written so funny. just the way these guys describe all sorts of things make me smile, grin and even laugh some times. and the way i write is just so boring ... but i think i know what it is: i'm german and if i'd write in german it would probably a lot funnier because i just have more vocabulary in german (obviously) but then many of my friends who read this -- at least that's what they tell me -- wouldn't understand it because they don't know german. and i kinda enjoy writing in english to maybe improve it and get better ... well, i'm just saying -- i'm aware of how lame and boring this is some times, but that's just the way it is. *yawn* ttyl ;o)
