it was nice - really - culture shock, but nice. and the weather was beautiful - other than here in bremen (from what i heard). well, i left thrusday morning pretty tired because after the dinner on wednesday we went to betti & marc's place and had a couple of cocktails (left-overs from the beach party ...). so i was in bed too late and had a tiny headache in the morning. but, okay - i made the train and got to bamberg around 4 p.m. it was great to see miriam again and we went to her place straight away. it's up on a hill (like pretty much everything in bamberg is either on a hill or at the bottom of a hill) and they (mimi and her roommate) have a cool deck from where you can see almost the whole city (despite the hills everywhere 'cause it's kinda high on top of the house ..).

so on thursday we just went to a »biergarten« and had a couple of »radler«, got home around 9 p.m., made something to eat and sat on the deck with red wine for a while - had to catch up with all the gossip (mainly about men, of course).

on friday we went to nuernberg with a cheap train ticket to go shopping and check out the city. it was nice there but i didn't buy anything and seriously - 6 hours of shopping are almost more exhausting that 8 hours of work ;o). so we got home, had a salad and went to a bar to meet a few of her friends and to a disco-bar-kinda-thing afterwards. we probably got home around 2 a.m.

saturday was bamberg-day. we went shopping and did the sightseeing-tour (which is like a workout with all those hills ..). it's a really beautiful little bavarian town. looks like it hasn't been destroyed at all during ww II. all those little paths and churches all over the place .. plus - the weather was really perfect. we ended up not really doing anything saturday night 'cause we were tired. so we took another bootle of red wine - had to drink it since we used some for the pasta-sauce ;o) - and went upstairs again to chit chat ... we had to get up kinda early anyways, 'cause i had to catch my train at 10.10 a.m.

and then i got off the train in goettingen because i remembered that nina was there for the weekend to see benny. and because it was kinda early to go home i thought i'd check out the city, too. benny had a soccer game in the afternoon where we went to and nina and i sat in the sun and relaxed (got a little sunburned, too). when we got home benny made a yummy salad and we left. no traffic and nothing on the highways - not like we expected. so it took us just a little over 1,5 hours to bremen and it was nice to take the car home ;o)

all in all a really, really nice 4-day-weekend. and today the »artist kunstmagazin« came and i am sitting outside packing - which really isn't too bad because it's sunny, warm and beautiful in bremen now that i'm back.

okay - am hungry and my lunch is one the way (my colleague just went to get baguette for us) - so i will go ... but i'll let you know when i put bavaria-pix online xxx
